George Clooney credits his wife, Amal Clooney for a lot of things. But he also revealed that it was the human rights lawyer that convinced him to have a baby.
George Clooney was already in his 50s when he wed Amal, and they had their twins, Alexander and Elle when he was 56 years old. Throughout his life, the Ocean’s Eleven actor never even considered having a baby let alone twins, but having his kids certainly changed his life for the better.
Amal Clooney Encouraged George Clooney To Have A Baby
During a recent interview on the WTF With Marc Maron podcast, George revealed that he and Amal had already been married for over a year and they never even talked about having children. But one day, after visiting their friend’s house, the couple saw a loud and obnoxious kid.
Following their encounter with the boy, George and Amal went out for a walk. The latter told the actor that they’ve been awfully lucky in life, and George couldn’t agree more. But it is what Amal said next that surprised George.
“She said, 'Seems like that luck should be shared with some other folks,’” George said via People.
The Up In the Air actor was surprised with what his wife said, but he didn’t think that this was the actual moment that they agreed to try for a baby.
“And then I just said, 'Well, I mean, if you're in,' and she said, 'I think we should try.' I have to say it was very emotional because I really was convinced that wasn't my lot in life and was comfortable with that,” he said.
Having Twins Was A Surprise For George Clooney, Amal Clooney
George and Amal were successful in trying for their first child. But the couple was in for another surprise when they visited Amal’s doctor to get a sonogram.
“Listen, I didn't want to get married. I didn't want to have kids. And then this extraordinary human being walked into my life and I just fell madly in love. Then I knew from the minute I met her that everything was going to be different. I didn’t know I’d have twins. There is that moment when you go to the doctor and they pull out this piece of paper which is a sonogram and they go, ‘Here' and you go, 'It's a baby boy.' I'm like, 'Baby boy, fantastic.’ And then they said, 'And the other one is the girl,’” he said.

George revealed that Amal’s sister also has twins. And even though George had reservations about having two children at once, the actor said that he wouldn’t change it for the world now.

And now that Alexander and Ella are getting older, George said that he wants his twins to be able to adjust to any situation that they face in life. After all, George also learned to do this at such a young age.
“I learned to be scrappy because of that. You can put me in any situation, I can survive. I can survive anything. I had to make sure that that's something that our kids get. That's important to me,” he said.
Two years ago, George told Today show that his children are growing up to be good kids.
“They really come out with the personalities that they’re born with. They’re just completely different personalities, and they’re fun and smart. I mean, they already can … do all their ABCs in Italian and in English, and I can’t do that in English,” he joked.
George Clooney Open To Having More Kids
Since George is proving to be such a wonderful dad, and he’s also having a blast raising his twins, one can’t help but wonder if he and Amal want to expand their family.
According to Us Weekly, George and Amal are not closing their doors to the possibility of having more children. But for now, the actor is happy with what he’s got with his wife and twins.
