Kate Middleton and Prince William are expected to move to Windsor Castle. According to a report, the eventual move will be the final blow to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who reportedly wanted to live in the castle but didn't get what they wanted.
Kate Middleton And Prince William's Final Blow To Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Revealed?
The Prince and Princess of Wales have just settled to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor with their three children Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4. However, the family of five is expected to move to Windsor Castle in the future.
The eventual move by the Waleses will be seen as their final swipe at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who allegedly wanted a "suite of apartments" in the castle after they got married, Express reported.
Royal correspondents Christina Garibaldi and Christine Ross also talked about Prince William and Middleton's eventual move to Windsor. They believed that it would happen in the future.
"It seems like William and Kate will live in Windsor Castle," Garibaldi said on Royally Us podcast, per Express.
"I think we figured they would eventually move into Windsor Castle since they recently made the move to Windsor and they are really putting down roots as a family there."
Ross believed that the family of five would make the move because "Adelaide Cottage is so small." At present, it might work because their children are still young.
"It's not really big enough for what a future king might theoretically need," Ross explained. "There were definitely rumours and hints that Adelaide Cottage was a stopping point until they moved into Windsor Castle but I don't think they would ever do that until the Queen had passed which she now has."
She added, "I don't think we'll see this move really quickly. I think their children have had such a tumultuous new school year, I do think the move is inevitable."
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Wanted To Move To Windsor Castle?
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly approached Queen Elizabeth after their 2018 royal wedding. They wanted a bigger space for their growing family.
The royal couple reportedly approached Her Majesty and asked if they could move into Windsor Castle. However, the late monarch disagreed with the proposal and found it "inappropriate" because Windsor Castle had been the home of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years.
"There are empty bedrooms and suites in the private apartments within Windsor Castle which the Sussexes may have had their eye on, or perhaps some former living quarters in the castle grounds converted into other things," Hugo Vickers told Express. "But I can see how it might not be entirely appropriate to have a young family living there."
So, Queen Elizabeth decided to give them Frogmore Cottage instead.
Even if the Sussexes didn't get what they wanted, Queen's cousin Lady Elizabeth Anson said gifting Frogmore Cottage was a "big deal."
"The Queen's entrance into the gardens is right next to their cottage. It is essentially her backyard, her solitude, and her privacy," Lady Elizabeth claimed. "She was giving that up in gifting Harry and Meghan Frogmore Cottage. We all thought it was very big of her. She said, 'I hope they'll respect it.'"
