Meghan Markle graced the cover of Variety magazine as one of the magazine's honorees for the 2022 class of Power of Women. The outlet noted how warm and friendly she was to every crew during the photoshoot. However, GB News royal correspondent Cameron Walker felt her warmth was just a "PR stunt."
Meghan Markle Hitting Back At Royal Biographer Tom Bower?
British journalist and investigative reporter Tom Bower published a new book about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a few months back titled Revenge. In the book, Bower claimed that Markle was difficult to work with, so Walker felt that Markle's warmness to the crew in her latest interview was a shade to Bower.
"Another crucial thing about this interview is the author's comments at the top and she said during the photoshoot, Meghan came was warm and graceful, she shook hands with every crew member, every photographer everyone who was basically on the set," Walker said, Express reported.
"This is significant because if you remember Tom Bower's autobiography Revenge which came out a few months ago," he added.
In the book, Bower mentioned the actress doing a photoshoot for a Canadian budget clothing brand. It alleged that Markle "was very difficult to work with at that particular shoot."
"For me the fact that's so very clearly in black and white in this particular interview seems like a bit of a PR stunt to show she is warm and affectionate," Walker alleged.
What Did Meghan Markle Say In Her Variety Cover Interview?
Prince Harry's wife was acknowledged by Variety for her philanthropic and creative works, including her Archetypes podcast. She talked about a lot of things in the interview and even opened up about the Queen's death.
Markle was also asked about her two major interviews with Oprah Winfrey and New York Magazine and how it felt like opening up about her life.
"The [New York] story was intended to support "Archetypes" and focus on our projects. I've had some time to reflect on it," Markle said.
"Part of me is just really trusting, really open — that's how I move in the world. I have to remember that I don't ever want to become so jaded that that piece of me goes away. So despite any of those things? Onward. I can survive it."
She explained that part of her podcast was to look at the nuances around women who join her on the show. Markle clarified that she's not a journalist but wanted candid and real conversations with them.
