Kang Daniel will finally challenge himself in the acting industry through the upcoming drama series, Rookie Cops.
Kang Daniel immediately became one of the hottest K-pop idols in his generation soon after ranking first in Produce 101 Season 2. He also honed his skills as a singer and artist with the help of his former project group, Wanna One.
Following the disbandment of the group, he finally went solo without his former entertainment and debuted as a soloist. As a rare all-rounder, he added CEO at the beginning of his name after launching his own label, Konnect Entertainment. He decided to have his own company following his whirlwind legal battle with his former label.
Now that he is free and unrestricted when it comes to choosing the path he wants, Kang Daniel decided to expand his empire even more through his upcoming debut series.

Kang Daniel is Now An Actor
Disney+ Korea, per OSEN, will finally drop its most-awaited original series, Rookie Cops.
The series follows the story of an exemplary student, Wi Seung Hyun (Kang Daniel), who eventually enrolls in a police academy to follow in his father’s footsteps. But his journey is fun and challenging at the same time as he learns about the ambitions of other rookie cops.

The show also stars Chae Soo Bin, Park Yoo Na, Lee Shin Young, Park Seong Jun, Min Dohee, Kim Woo Seok, and Cheon Young Min.
Rookie Cops will be Kang Daniel’s first flick, and he seemingly nailed his first role already, as seen on the show’s stills.
The series’ first photos show Kang Daniel’s character who takes his exams before moving into the police academy. The other two photos flaunt the K-pop idol sporting his police uniforms.
What Kang Daniel Thinks About His Character
Ahead of the series’ release, Kang Daniel talked about his character and shared his thoughts about having his first drama. Per the idol, he set the word passion as his keyword for his first series.
“It felt like entering into someone else’s life. I think there’s a specific charm to acting that is different from performing on stage. It’s my first time acting, and I was really nervous being in an unfamiliar environment, but I was able to enjoy filming thanks to the help of various staff members and my fellow actors,” he said.
Meanwhile, the show’s producers showered him with compliments and said that the star’s sincerity and enthusiasm in acting are commendable. They also hoped that Rookie Cops would be their opportunity to find the charms the K-pop idol has not shown before.
Kang Daniel’s Rookie Cops will premiere on January 26.
