Justice League star Ray Fisher recently reflected on the challenges that he faced following his controversy in the DCEU franchise.

Years after the team-up film was released, the actor accused director Joss Whedon of "abusive" behavior during the reshoots while he called out DC Films head Walter Hamada for being "the most dangerous kind of enabler."

Since then, he has left the franchise and moved on to work on other projects such as Zack Snyder's two-part Rebel Moon films on Netflix and making his Broadway debut.

In a recent interview, Fisher reflected on moving on from his past controversy in the DCEU as he worked on his new film The Piano Lesson.

"What helped this entire process is, I’ve got to give it up to [The Piano Lesson writer] August Wilson. For me, it was a palate cleanser in many ways because I’ve endured specific hardships in my life and some career hardships," he said.

"Being able to come back into this space and say, ‘I don’t want to get hung up on this. I don’t want to feel resentful for anything that happened.’ I want to move on, and that’s what [my The Piano Lesson character] Lymon represents."

Fisher also addressed how he relates his The Piano Lesson character to his personal experience.

He added, "The juxtaposition that existed within the piece, within the character. I think there’s a little of Lymon Jackson in all of us. There’s an innocence about him in this piece that many lose as time passes, especially when you endure such hardship."

Based on his comments, it sounds like Fisher is ready to move on from his past issues in the DCEU and his new film is helping him in that process and put it all behind him.

In the years since he departed from the now-defunct DCEU franchise, Fisher has not expressed any interest in participating in the new DCU under James Gunn and Peter Safran.

However, he has stated that he would be willing to play Cyborg again "in a heartbeat" if Snyder is at the helm, a scenario that is very unlikely to happen anytime soon.
