It looks like things aren't looking too good for Joss Whedon. While many fans will always love him for his work on Firefly, The Avengers, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, many have become wary of his character. Whedon was accused of cheating on his wife with multiple stars from his various projects and now, Justice League star Ray Fisher is claiming that he was abusive to the cast and crew during reshoots.
The worst part? Fisher claims that Whedon's inappropriate behavior was enabled by Geoff Johns and Jon Berg, before stating that accountability should always be prioritized over people's entertainment.
Obviously, these are fairly big allegations towards Whedon, Johns, and Berg. Ray Fisher made it clear that he wasn't a fan of how Whedon handled Justice League not too long ago but this is more than just criticism. We're curious about how this situation will be handled since Geoff Johns is still a fairly big name in the DC/Warner Bros. spectrum, while we haven't seen a Joss Whedon project in years.
We already discussed how Whedon cheated on his wife and hearing about all this does make us a bit happier that he won't be directing a Batgirl movie anymore. There's an argument to be made that Whedon, Johns, and Berg were under a lot of pressure to "fix" the movie but that's no excuse. Say what you will about Zack Snyder but I don't think he has ever been accused of anything like this.
Zack Snyder's Justice League is coming to HBO Max sometime next year, where Fisher's Cyborg will likely have a more prominent role.
