- Quick Answer: The cancelled Sasha Calle Supergirl movie featured a completely unique story and tone, leaving zero shared mythology or elements with the rebooted DCU film.
Supergirl writer Ana Nogueira recently revealed how the DCEU version of the movie starring Sasha Calle would have been different from the new DCU movie.
Back when the DCEU franchise was still active, there were plans to develop a Supergirl movie with Sasha Calle reprising the role after debuting in The Flash. However, the plans fell through when the DC Studios was established, and the franchise was rebooted with the DCU. Milly Alcock took over the role for the new movie.
How Sasha Calle's Supergirl Movie Differed from the DCU Movie Version

In an interview with EW, Nogueira, who also worked on the script for the DCEU version of the Supergirl movie, revealed how the Sasha Calle project would have differed from the new DCU movie that we ended up seeing.
Without revealing the details, she confirmed that the DCEU version that she worked on was significantly different in its story and tone.
"It was completely different. I don't think I can even say what it was about, but it could not have been more different," she said.
She emphasized that the differences were "everything," including the mythology and the characterization. She added, "Nothing transferred over from one to the other [Supergirl movie], which is crazy."
While the DCEU version of Supergirl did not end up pushing through, Nogueira used that experience when she wrote the DCU version of the character.
"It was useful to me. There is a real thing when you're doing this, you have to really onboard yourself on things like power set, what these characters are capable of, what a fight would look like, how strong you want them to be," she explained.
"How strong is Superman? He's as strong as the writer needs him to [be]. Do you need them to throw a planet? Then you can do it. Do you need him to get the s*** kicked out of him? So that was really useful, that I knew that power set for [Supergirl] in and out."
