Justice League Dark Says Goodbye to Director

In a surprising update for Justice League Dark, it seems that the project is currently back on the waiting list.

Variety reported that Doug Liman, who had been onboard as director, has left the project due to schedule conflicts. According to the source, Liman will be focusing on Chaos Walking, a movie that he has also been tagged to work on and recently green-lit by Lionsgate.

So far, things are reportedly still looking good for Justice League Dark. Warner Bros is moving quickly in trying to find a new director. THR's Borys Kit tweeted that the studio is already looking for a replacement director. And the frontrunner on the list is Andy Muschietti, most known for his work in the recent adaptation of Stephen King's It.

Liman has already been connected to two superhero films right now, both of which he has already exited as director. The first is Gambit for Fox, which he exited from due to a lack of connection with the film.

This makes it a little harder to pass off the director departure for Justice League Dark. In a recent report, Liman confirmed that he was fully connected with the movie, and even had a couple of ideas that he wanted to execute.

Scott Rudin and Michael Gilio are still onboard as producer and script writer. For now, all we know about Justice League Dark is that it will tell the stories of the lesser known members of the DC Comics universe, John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Zatanna, Deadman, and Etrigan the Demon.
