As the show’s premiere inches ever closer, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 revealed the artists that will perform the new opening and ending songs.

The two artists that will perform the second season’s songs have not made music for the series yet, though they do have experience in singing tracks for other popular shounen anime.

Because the second season is expected to be two cours or around 24 episodes in length, it’s likely that these opening and ending songs will only be used in the first half.

Jujutsu Kaisen's first season had two memorable openings, with the first being Eve’s Kaikai Kitan and the second being Vivid Vice by Who-ya Extended.

Given how popular these two songs are, the pressure is certainly going to be on the next opening song performer, Tatsuya Kitani.

Kitani is a popular Japanese singer who has worked on various songs for anime over the last two years. Though he is best known for Scar, the opening song of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War.

It’s fair to say that Kitani’s song for Bleach was a big hit among fans and was a great fit for the show’s action. But this is not the only notable anime song that Kitani has been involved in.

Previously, Kitani has also helped in composing songs for Mob Psycho 100 Season 2 as well as DanMachi.

For Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, Kitani will perform the opening song, Ao no Sumika.

While the song has yet to be released, it will be previewed at the MAPPA Stage 2023 event later this month.

Along with the opening, the second season’s ending song was also revealed, and it is called Light by Soushi Sakiyama.

Much like Kitani, Sakiyama also has experience performing songs for anime.

He is best known for the song Uso ja Nai, which was used as the second ending song for My Hero Academia Season 5.

Based on his previous work, it’s likely that the ending song for Season 2 will be on the mellow side, though we’ll have to wait until it’s previewed.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will premiere in July 2023. Meanwhile, more details about the show are expected to be shared at the MAPPA Stage 2023 event that’s happening on May 21, 2023.
