In the latest episode, titled Evening Festival, fans were treated to a spectacular showdown between Mechamaru and Mahito. But as the dust settled on this intense battle, a lingering question haunts the minds of fans: Has Mechamaru died in Jujutsu Kaisen?

Who Is Mechamaru?
Mechamaru, a cursed corpse, is an android-looking puppet that is designed with a robotic appearance. It is crafted to resemble a teenage male human.
He was created by Kokichi Muta and controlled using his Puppet Manipulation technique.
Kokichi’s Heavenly Restriction caused him to have a fragile body, preventing him from leading a regular life.
As such, he was forced to rely on Mechamaru as his proxy in school.
Kokichi remotely controls Mechamaru using his innate ability called Puppet Manipulation.
Despite his physical limitations, Kokichi possesses exceptionally high levels of cursed energy, surpassing even most sorcerers.

What Happened to Mechamaru in Jujutsu Kaisen?
In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, Mechamaru faces Mahito. Kokichi fires Ultra Cannon at Mahito while in his Mechamaru Mode: Absolute form.
Mahito avoids the explosion and emerges from the smoke with half of his face scorched.
However, Kokichi is aware that Mechamaru’s attacks won’t really work on Mahito.
Later, Mahito decides to unleash his Domain Expansion called Self-Embodiment of Perfection and traps Mechamaru with Kokichi inside.
Eventually, Idle Transfiguration strikes unerringly inside the domain, causing Mechamaru to crumble and fall.
Mahito confidently turns his back to the puppet, convinced of his victory. He remarks on the awkwardness of Kokichi’s excessive reliance on strategy.
However, Mahito is in for a shock when Mechamaru emerges from behind, driving a spiked finger through Mahito’s back and into his torso.
Mahito turns to face Mechamaru, only to encounter Kokichi's fierce gaze within, as he unleashes Simple Domain within Mahito’s domain.
This results in Mahito’s body exploding and his domain instantly disappears. Kokichi then focuses his attention on taking down Pseudo-Geto.
But suddenly, Kokichi sees Mahito emerging through the hole. He attempts to stab Mahito again.
Both Mahito and Kokichi charge at each other, their hands whizzing past in a blur.
Regrettably for Kokichi, he proves the slower of the two, losing not only his life but his dream of seeing his schoolmates as well.
Mechamaru's shattered face can be seen oozing with Kokichi’s blood, marking the end of their brave journeys.
Is Mechamaru Dead?
As described in the events above, Kokichi faced Mahito using Mechamaru Mode: Absolute form at the latter's hideout.
Mechamaru fought valiantly against Mahito, but by the end of the battle, Mahito emerged victorious.
Unfortunately, Mahito killed Mechamaru and his master, Kokichi. So, yes, Mechamaru is dead in Jujutsu Kaisen.
