Jujutsu Kaisen Creator Wants Keanu Reeves' Constantine Sequel to Bring Back Fan Favorite Character


There is little doubt that people are already excited about the Constantine sequel after it was confirmed that Keanu Reeves will return as the moody exorcist. Not surprisingly, Gege Akutami is also hyped up about the second film. Moreover, the Jujutsu Kaisen creator added that they are already looking forward to the return of a fan favorite character!

Gege Akutami shared their excitement for Constantine 2 in the author notes for Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #44 (via Twitter). The Jujutsu Kaisen mangaka also added that they are wondering if Tilda Swinton will reprise her role as the angel Gabriel in the new film.

"They're gonna do a sequel to Constantine! Will Tilda Swinton's Gabriel be in it?" Akutami wrote.

We're not surprised that Gege Akutami is excited about Constantine 2. After all, the sequel will bring back Keanu Reeves as John Constantine. However, it is still unclear if the other characters will be back in the second movie. Hopefully, we'll get new updates on the project soon.

The Constantine sequel is currently in development at Warner Bros. with Keanu Reeves returning as the titular exorcist. Francis Lawrence, who directed the 2005 flick, will return to helm the second film. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

In the meantime, Jujutsu Kaisen is on a roll. The manga has just released its 199th chapter and has been selling thousands of volumes throughout 2022. In addition to that, the anime is set for a second season that will premiere early next year.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 199 has been published in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #44. The anime's Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to premiere in early 2023.

Likewise, the Constantine sequel is still in early development and has not been given an official release date.
