Constantine 2 Character Guide: Who are the Potential Characters in the Sequel?

Constantine is a supernatural thriller movie released in 2005, starring Keanu Reeves as the titular character. It was loosely based on the Hellblazer comic book created by Alan Moore, Jamie Delano, John Totleben, Stephen R. Bissette, and John Ridgeway. The movie performed relatively well when it first premiered but has slowly grown into a cult classic, with more fans rediscovering the skeptic supernatural detective in recent years, thanks to Keanu Reeves’ success as John Wick.

In September 2022, Warner Bros. announced that a Constantine sequel was on the way. We still don’t know much about the film, but we do know that we want to see the cast from the first movie reprise their roles. Here are the characters we may see in Constantine 2.

Constantine 2 is still in early production, so we still do not know what the plot will be, who will return, and when the film will premiere. The film will likely follow John Constantine facing a supernatural adversary threatening the mortal realm.

The Constantine movies will not be the same without Keanu Reeves. Though other excellent characters played Constantine in different universes, like Matt Ryan, who played Constantine in the NBC series, the film is only associated with Reeves.

Constantine is an occult detective who has mastered many supernatural powers and sorcery since he was a young teen. In the comic book, Constantine is British with blonde hair and a brown trenchcoat, but in the movie, Constantine is an American donning a suit and tie.

Peter Stormare as Lucifer

Lucifer was the main antagonist in the first Constantine movie, played by Peter Stormare. Rumors are that Stormare will reprise his role as the ruler of Hell, but there are still no official confirmations.

Stormare’s Lucifer was an adaptation of the traditional Lucifer, the fallen angel. In the first movie, we only met Lucifer when Constantine was on the brink of death because, apparently, John Constantine was the only soul Lucifer will personally collect.
