Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 196 Recap
After remaining unaccounted for a chapter or two, it was finally confirmed that Maki has recovered and is now ready to fight again.
The mysterious and sudden appearance of Daido and Miyo gave Maki and Noritoshi the much-needed chance to recuperate, much to fans' relief, as the latter really seemed marked for death at some point.
But the newcomers' role was more than helping in the battle against Naoya.
Miyo, for one, takes it upon himself to teach Maki something. Miyo finally gets his wish to practice Sumo, and he is able to overpower Maki in a sumo match.
Sensing her great potential, he confronts her about her lack of focus.
Despite having instructors in Jujutsu High, Maki is accustomed to operating independently, and she hadn't thought that having a teacher would benefit her.
Apparently, Maki was wrong about that. Miyo definitely has some techniques to teach her, and he proceeds to do so through the way he knows best: more sumo!
Maki has been through a lot throughout the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, so it's good to see her so happy for a change!
Fans have been very excited about this recent development, expressing their wish to keep seeing Maki smiling.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 197 Release Date
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 197 is scheduled to be released on Sunday, September 11, 2022.
Previously, there had been a week-long delay due to a holiday in the manga office, but the shonen work is back on track now!
Normally, a new Jujutsu Kaisen chapter is released every Sunday, unless there's a break.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 197 Spoilers
At the time of writing, no raw scans or spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 197 have been released yet.
Given how obsessed the two newcomers are with their one goal, we expect them to remain in comic relief, or in assisting (rather than central) roles, but this is probably not the last we've seen of them.
In the next chapter of the shonen manga, the focus could once again shift to depict the fight between Naoya and Daido Hagane.
