There is little doubt that fans are disappointed that there isn't a new chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen this week. However, it looks like Chapter 178 will be well worth the wait. The manga returns with an exciting new chapter next week and the preview teases the Sendai Colony arc climax!
In the previous chapter, Yuta Okkotsu continued to deal with Takako Uro but she isn't the only problem the sorcerer has to worry about. In Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 177, Ryu Ishigori also imposes his will. It's a dangerous time for Okkotsu, who appears in the last panel calling on the Rika curse's full power.
So what will happen in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 178? The preview confirms that we can look forward to the climax of the Sendai Colony arc. "Who will dominate in the domain expansion...?!" it teases.
That's not the only thing that is being teased in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 178. The final panel in the previous chapter hypes up how “everything about ‘her’ is laid bare.” This is an obvious reference to the Rika curse and how Okkotsu will ultimately use her full power against Uro and Ishigori.
But does this mean that the Sendai Colony arc is finally coming to an end? The story arc has only been told in four parts and people are expecting a little more in the future. Either way, we are already looking forward to Sendai Colony Part 5 next week.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 178 was supposed to be published in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #15 but has been delayed due to Gege Akutami's poor health condition. Luckily, the mangaka is now recovering and it has been confirmed that Sendai Colony Part 5 will be featured in the next issue.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 178 will be published in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #16 on Saturday, March 19, 2022.
