In a report from Deadline, France's Why Not Productions unveiled the first look at Johnny Depp as the controversial King Louis XV in the historical romance drama Jeanne Du Barry by French director, Maïwenn, who plays the titular role as well.
Just after the trial wrapped, Johnny Depp flew to Paris and to the Île-de-France region to start with the filming of Jeanne Du Barry and even having the Palace of Versailles as the place to shoot.
Jeanne Du Barry follows the controversial historical love affair between the titular character, a working-class woman who climbed the top of the social heap with her intellect and allure and caught the attention of King Louis XV who fell in love with her.
