Marvel Studios ended their Disney Investor Day presentation last week with a huge bang by officially announcing the arrival of Marvel's First Family aka the Fantastic Four to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Naturally, this latest development pleased a lot of fans who have been clamoring for a "proper" representation of Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing in live-action form.
The cast for the MCU adaptation of F4 hasn't been revealed yet and it's pretty understandable considering the project is in its early stages of development but it's no secret that fans have been lobbying for real-life couple John Krasinski and Emily Blunt for years now to play Reed Richards and Sue Storm respectively.
Following the announcement, a "fantastic" artwork has made the rounds all over social media imagining what the MCU's First Family would look like. Of course, Krasinski and Blunt are part of the image, and artist @spdrmnkyxxiii also added strong contenders like Dacre Montgomery and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to the mix. It looks extremely promising, I gotta say. Check it out here:
The future of the Marvel film franchise just got exciting and the upcoming arrival of the Fantastic Four to Earth-616 is truly something to look forward to. After two failed attempts at launching the F4 franchise, it's time for Kevin Feige and his crew to step in and finally do the characters justice. Given the MCU's impressive track record, we can rest assured knowing they'll be handled well.
The MCU's Fantastic Four is in active development.
