While Jujutsu Kaisen’s second season is airing soon, one of the show’s stars is in hot water. Recently, a Jujutsu Kaisen star is facing a lawsuit scandal that might put his voice-acting roles in jeopardy.
Specifically, Suguru Geto voice actor Takahiro Sakurai is the Jujutsu Kaisen star that’s facing a major controversy recently.
While he already made the headlines back in October due to an infidelity scandal, things have gotten even worse.
Jujutsu Kaisen Star Controversy
Takahiro Sakurai is a popular voice actor who many anime fans probably know best as the villain Suguru Geto in Jujutsu Kaisen. Though that is not his only role as he has been active since the 90s.
Some of Sakurai’s other well-known anime roles include Reigen Arataka in Mob Psycho 100, Giyu Tomioka in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Rohan Kishibe in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and Griffith in Berserk.
Aside from anime roles, Sakurai is also popular among many gamers as he is the voice of Cloud Strife in the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts games.
Back in October, news broke that Sakurai has been in an extramarital affair for 10 years.
Apparently, Sakurai has been married for nearly 20 years, but he has never mentioned this in public, nor to the staff of his radio show.
It was reported that Sakurai had an affair with one of the show’s writers for 10 years. The writer did not know of Sakurai’s marriage, and he even told her he intended to marry her.
Since word got out, the radio show was taken off the air, and apologies were made by the production company, Sakurai’s agency, and Sakurai himself.

Recently, a new update to Sakurai’s case was revealed by Shukan Bunshun. It was revealed that Sakurai had an affair with another woman who is now demanding JPY 10 million (around USD 77,900).
It was mentioned that Sakurai refused the demand as he deems it excessively high.
Now, the parties involved are discussing with lawyers how to go about the case.
While it seems that Sakurai’s agency, INTENTION, has yet to officially address this new issue, many consider Shukan Bunshun to be a reliable source when it comes to Japanese personality news such as these.
Whatever the case may be, what’s sure is that this is a messy situation all around.
Given that Sakurai may have had affairs with multiple women, his anime roles may be affected due to the gravity of the situation.
