Jeremy Renner proved he’s a real-life hero after saving his nephew from being hit by his snow-removal tractor, leaving him suffering a fatal snowplough accident on New Year’s Day in 2023. But though everyone knows that he has successfully survived after fighting for his life, his Mayor of Kingstown co-star Michael Beach revealed the Avengers star “actually died.”

Renner was trying to stop his snowcat from sliding and hitting his nephew when he ended up being pulled under the vehicle and crushed.

After being rushed to the hospital, the actor who plays Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) underwent multiple surgeries after breaking 30 bones in the incident.

He also reportedly suffered “blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries.” But due to the severity of what happened, not everyone knows that his heart stopped beating.

Michael Beach Talked About Jeremy Renner’s Snowplow Accident

In an interview with The Direct, Beach made a major revelation about Renner’s snowplough accident.

“I mean that guy, you know, he broke 38 bones. He actually died,” he revealed.

Like fans, the actor who plays Captain Kareen Moore in Mayor of Kingstown didn’t know it until Renner told him.

After surviving the major accident, Beach couldn’t help but be stunned by how great of a “war horse” the Marvel star is

“Jeremy is a war horse, man,” he continued. “He's been coming back.”

Though Renner wasn’t sure how it would be if he died back then, Beach added the former “was ready.”

But now that he seems to have been brought back to life, Renner often says, “he feels stronger and stronger.”

In fact, despite the several operations he has gone through, his physical abilities remain undeterred.

“He's in it doing it. He's great,” Beach said. “Yeah, he's a great guy, man. And he's really as tough as nails.”

More than a year after that fatal accident, Jenner’s nephew, Alex Fries, is now part of Mayor of Kingstown.

This gives people on the set a couple of perspectives about what happened on that fateful day of Jan. 1, 2023, with Beach adding that they weren't shy about telling them what went on and how they felt.

“So, it's a unique perspective to the story of how Jeremy Renner got run over by a Snowplough,” he said.

Jeremy Renner’s Marvel Co-Stars Praised His Recovery

Just when many thought that Renner couldn’t have survived his horrific snowplough accident, he came out alive and much stronger.

Hence, Beach wasn’t the only one impressed by his recovery. His Marvel co-stars, Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr., also praised their fellow Avengers actor.

He even managed to attend Chris Evans’ wedding in Cape Cod eight months after suffering life-threatening injuries. There, they had nothing but praise for Renner.

“If there’s one characteristic we’d all agree is paramount, it’s resilience,” Downey said via Vanity Fair. “To see Renner embody that literally and in the context of what was basically a Portuguese-American wedding was mind-blowing. Fully recovered and ready to celebrate. So, yes, miracles happen.”

“There was an astounding sense of gratitude from him around just being alive,” Hemsworth added.

Indeed, Renner proved his resilience after surviving that tragedy. And after just a year, he’s back as Mike McLusky in Mayor of Kingstown Season 3, which will premiere on June 2, 2024, on Paramount+.
