Jennifer Coolidge Reportedly In Talks to Join A Highly Awaited Marvel Series

Fans were clearly overjoyed when it was announced that Aubrey Plaza would be heading the MCU, as she was cast in a seemingly wicked role in Marvel's upcoming Disney+ series Agatha: Coven of Chaos. As the upcoming WandaVision spinoff is building its stellar ensemble, casting rumors are emerging left and right. The most recent hearsay is that Plaza will be joined by another The White Lotus star, Jennifer Coolidge, in the much-awaited sequel.

Coolidge is in talks to join the cast of Coven of Chaos, according to Giant's Freakin' Robot's reliable sources. Given that the series will be full of sorcery, the actress is presumably assuming the role of a witch with some connection to Kathryn Hahn’s title character. The Legally Blonde actress is already a proven comedian, and she is expected to add more comedic elements to the slightly ludicrous, horror-tinged show that is Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

WandaVision is a dark comedy that begins as a sitcom and progresses to a drama about the affliction of grief and trauma. Given that Coven of Chaos is its spinoff, some fans are expecting that it will have the same tone as its predecessor. The series is regarded as the number one series that saved the MCU's Phase 4.

Hahn was introduced in WandaVision as Wanda Maximoff and Vision’s shady neighbor Agatha Harkness, and she will be the focus of the upcoming series. Additional WandaVision's actors are set to reprise their roles with Emma Caulfield Ford and Debra Jo Rupp and introduce new faces with Joe Locke from Netflix’s Heartstopper and Nickelodeon star Trey Sartorius, among others.

Despite suffering a delay, Agatha: Coven of Chaos has finally started filming, and behind-the-scenes images revealed huge changes that can potentially be implemented in the show, such as a change in the title to Agnes of Westview. The upcoming spinoff will pick up where WandaVision left off, with Agatha breaking free from the spell Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) casts on her during the finale.

If the rumors are true that Coolidge will be joining the Marvel project, fans are in for a treat because her recent Golden Globe win for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television might have some use in the MCU.
