It's 'Not an Easy Time' For Guardians of the Galaxy Cast, According to Chris Pratt

Guardians of the Galaxy fans have been going through a lot lately, due to the recent firing of James Gunn after offensive Tweets that were uncovered by Trump supporters, even though they were made years ago. Fans have been wanting Gunn back in the role and the cast of the film also want that, recently penned an open letter showing how all of them want him back in the director's chair.

With no replies from Disney and the possibilities of Marvel having to get a new director for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it hasn't been an easy time for the cast. Chris Pratt even said so during an interview with AP News, as the cast is struggling with their love of the characters and their support for Gunn.

Pratt says he and the others still love James Gunn, saying they consider him a good friend and are hoping to move forward to do what's right. Whether that involves Gunn or not isn't clear and only Disney can give a definitive answer to this.

"It's not an easy time. We all love James and he's a good friend of ours, but we also really love playing the Guardians of the Galaxy. It's a complicated situation for everybody. And you know, we just want to move forward and do what's right and be the best people we can be."

Gunn is apparently a hot commodity right now, with other studios showing interest in him should he be released from his Marvel contract. Marvel reportedly wants to keep Gunn and are talking with Disney to rehire him.

No release date for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been revealed, though Disney is hoping for a 2020 date. They'll need to cast a new director soon to keep that date.
