Vecna being the big bad of this run proves to be a terrifying one and he continues his curse or wrath over Hawkins as he revealed how he created the sinister things within the Upside Down. Is he already dead in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 after being defeated by Eleven in the mindscape and by Nancy, Steve, and Robin in his own house?
Is Vecna Dead in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2?
In Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2, Vecna gets his stand-off against the only one who is at par with his capabilities, Eleven, the very reason how he get to be in the Upside Down and create monsters from his sinister plans and just as he thought he got the upper hand, Eleven fights back after hearing Mike’s words.
Vecna is about to claim his fourth victim, the fourth sacrifice, Max, but Eleven unleashes her full capacity and sends Vecna flying to the wall. Vecna still tries to convince Eleven how the two of them could rule the world with how powerful they both are but Eleven loves her friends more than anything, they are her family, and she didn’t back down.
As Eleven defeats Vecna in the mindscape, the monsters from the Upside Down stops and gives Nancy, Robin, and Steve the opportunity to kill the body of Vecna. They use molotovs to set his body on fire and Nancy never backs down with her personalized shotgun. They send Vecna flying out of the house but as soon as they go down, Vecna is gone.

Near the end of Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2, Will Byers, himself, confirms that Vecna is still alive, though he may have been hurt, but he is still alive. Will, being the first victim of the Upside Down, had a connection with the Mind Flayer, a creature created by Vecna. Will is not kidding when he tells Mike that Vecna will not stop until he kills everyone.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor playing Vecna, Jamie Campbell Bower may have just spoiled his return in Stranger Things Season 5 saying, “Let me put it this way: I know about season five. Take from that what you will.”
With all these, there is only one conclusion: Vecna is still alive and he will return in Stranger Things Season 5.
