About Fairy Tail

Fairy Tail is an award-winning manga written and illustrated by Hiro Mashima. Like many other shounen works, it has been serialized by Shounen Magazine on a weekly basis for a long time.

Story-wise, the manga unfolds in Earth Land, where magic is an everyday occurrence and used for all sorts of things; it does however have a dark and dangerous side too.

To prevent this aspect of magic from upsetting the natural orders, magic guilds are formed, consisting of wizards and witches who take on various magic-related jobs.

The main character Natsu Dragneel is a member of Fairy Tail, a guild that stands apart from the others due to its strength.

One day, Natsu and his partner, a cat named Happy, run into Lucy, a girl who dreams of joining the Fairy Tail guild. After saving her from kidnappers, Natsu welcomes her to his guild where the two, along with other guild members, form a crew and embark on many adventures.

The manga won the 33rd Kodansha Manga Award in the shounen manga category, the Japan Expo Award for shounen, as well as the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation's Industry Award for best comedy manga, showing that it has been beloved by readers and critics alike.

Fairy Tail is a finished manga, having completed its final volume in 2017 after an 11-year run. To this day, Fairy Tail counts 63 volumes with a total of 549 chapters - and this is not even all!

Not only has Fairy Tail been adapted into a massive anime with over 300 episodes in total, but creator Hiro Mashima has collaborated with artist Atsuo Ueda to create a sequel manga: Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest.

This is currently ongoing, and, while we don't expect anything to reach the original story's momentum, it might nevertheless fill the Fairy Tail-shaped hole in fans' hearts.
