The isekai story of Catarina Claes in My Next Life As a Villainess has been given another run with All Routes Lead To Doom! X and while it has a manga adaptation, it all started with a Japanese light novel series. My Next Life As a Villainess: All Routes Lead To Doom! follows the story of Catarina Claes, a member of the noble family who accidentally bumped her head hard and she got memories of being an otaku in her past life. She was reborn in an otome game, Fortune Lover, but not as a princess, but as the villainess of the game. As she tries to escape her destiny in the game, she takes countermeasures, only to have consequences on her relations with the others.
In 2020, it got its first anime television series which was by Silver Link. It was a successful one, forming part of the spring anime season of that year. And with the huge fanbase created from the first season, a second run was given to it in July 2020, now under the summer anime season, with 12 episodes all in all.
Is My Next Life As a Villainess Manga Complete, Finished, or Ongoing?
The first publication, though, was not a manga series but a Japanese Light novel series by Satoru Yamaguchi with the illustrations of Nami Hidaka with the same title as that of the anime adaptation. It has been in circulation since 2014 through a user-generated website, Shōsetsuka ni Narō, and it arrived in print through Ichijinsha in 2015 and J-Novel Club for North America. The light novel series has ten volumes, to date, and it is currently ongoing.
As for the manga series, the same writer and illustrator got together once more. It was serialized in the shōjo manga magazine of Ichijinsha, Monthly Comic Zero Sum in 2017 and it was licensed in English by the Seven Seas Entertainment. It has six tankōbon volumes, and it is ongoing as well.
There even is a spin-off manga focusing on what could possibly happen in Catarina would have her memories titled My Next Life as a Villainess Side Story: On the Verge of Doom! released in 2019.
My Next Life As a Villainess: All Routes Lead To Doom! Season 2 is up online on Crunchyroll. As the first season was dubbed in English, the same could be expected for the second season as well once the anime has enough episodes aired. It releases new episodes weekly, every Saturday, at 1:25 AM JST/ 9:25 AM PT/ 11:25 AM CT/ 12:25 PM EST/ 5:25 PM BST.
