A new shark movie has just landed on Netflix and it comes as a sequel to Mandy Moore's 2017 movie, 47 Meters Down. The new movie, released in 2019, is called 47 Meters Down: Uncaged. While the two movies are connected, they do not follow each other's stories so you can watch one without watching the other. Both movies were written and directed by Johannes Roberts.
What Is 47 Meters Down: Uncaged Story About?
The story of 47 Meters Down: Uncaged follows four women out on a vacation and ready to go on a scuba diving adventure. Corinne Foxx and Sophie Nelisse stars as sisters, Sasha and Mia. They bring two other friends, Nicole (played by Sistine Stallone) and Alexa (played by Brianne Tju), on the escapade. Unfortunately, Nicole dives deeper than what Alexa advised, which is when the problem starts.

The cast of 47 Meters Down: Uncaged may sound familiar, and that's because both Corinne Foxx and Sistine Stallone hail from notable backgrounds. Yes, you got that right. Corinne is the daughter of Jamie Foxx while Sistine is the daughter of Sylvester Stallone.
On the casting of the actors, Roberts said:
"They were all very fresh. I think it really helped to have this amazing energy amongst them that really works in the movie. I don’t think it would have worked to have bigger stars. It was not that kind of movie.”

The film's director/scriptwriter, Johannes Roberts, planned to create an entirely new set of characters for 47 Meters Down: Uncaged.
“I didn’t feel that there was a story to continue from the first movie. I felt it needed to be a whole new adventure. So we then started again fresh.”
