The success of Sylvester Stallone’s movies, whether the ones he did or starred in, has spoken volumes about his triumphs in the entertainment business. He doesn’t only make a name as an actor but also as a filmmaker.

Stallone used to be a struggling actor before he made it big in the business. He received his first critical acclaim from the movie The Lords of Flatbush.

He continued to do side and extra character roles until he made his greatest critically acclaimed and commercially successful movie both as an actor and screenwriter in the 1976 film Rocky. The film turned into a series, which now has nine movies to date, including the upcoming Creed III.

However, it was the only commercially successful film he had until he did First Blood, playing the role of John Rambo, in 1982. He ended up doing five Rambo films.

Stallone’s career started to decline in the early 2000s, but he successfully returned to the limelight with the release of the sixth Rocky movie in 2006 and the fourth Rambo film in 2008.

He then began The Expendables film series in 2010. He followed it with the release of Escape Plan and the return to the Rocky series with its spinoff, Creed, led by Michael B. Jordan.

These strings of success made Stallone the only actor in the history of American cinema to star in a box office number-one movie across six consecutive decades.

Sylvester Stallone’s Salary and Net Worth

Stallone accepted a cut-rate salary of $23,000 to star Rocky after writing its screenplay amid the producers’ interest in giving it to Robert Redford or James Caan.

He then received $3.5 million for First Blood, $10 million as a producer for Staying Alive, $4 million for Rhinestone, $12 million for Rocky IV, $12 million for Over the Top, and $16 million for Rambo III.

He would then usually receive $15 to $16 million for every film he did.

It then grew to $17.5 million for Daylight, and $20 million each for Driven and Eye See You.
