Jamie Foxx Still Interested in Starring in Spawn Reboot Despite Delays

Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx is still interested in starring in Todd McFarlane and Blumhouse Production's upcoming Spawn movie.

Speaking in an interview with Yahoo! to discuss his brand new Netflix movie, Project Power, Foxx decided to open up about McFarlane's Spawn movie and how he hopes that the comicbook writer might think of him for the role once production starts rolling.

"I surprised Todd McFarlane. I said, ‘Bro, I know that one day you will do this movie, and I hope you will keep me in mind.' What Black Panther did was let us know that it's so necessary, and it's the time. And Spawn is just an interesting character in itself. The heads that are being put together to bring you something special – look out," the Django Unchained star told the entertainment news outlet.

Word about McFarlane's Spawn reboot first came out three years ago during the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con International. The news came as a surprise to fans – aside from writing the film's script, McFarlane announced that he would be directing the film under Blumhouse Productions.

Soon after the announcement, McFarlane revealed that Avengers: Endgame star Jeremy Renner would play Twitch together with Foxx who would be playing the titular anti-hero.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 came rolling in, and updates about the film has become difficult to come by. Despite all these issues, it seems like Foxx is still game, hoping that he could play Al Simmons in McFarlane's Spawn reboot.

Let's see what becomes of the project.
