AMC is hyping up the Interview with the Vampire series with a new teaser that offers a glimpse at the interview itself. The brief tease finally shows us the new version of the interviewer before introducing the present-day Louis de Pointe du Lac, who is played by Game of Thrones actor Jacob Anderson!
The new Interview with the Vampire teaser was shared by the official AMC+ Twitter account. In the teaser, the interviewer (Eric Bogosian) introduces himself as Daniel Molloy before confirming the time and date then asking Mr. du Lac how long he has been dead. Just as Louis turns around, the scene is cut. Check it out below.
This is the first time we're actually meeting Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy, the man who will be hearing Louis' story about his life as a vampire. In the book, the interviewer was only referred to as "the boy" but is surprisingly made a lot older in the new series. It's also the first glimpse at the present-day Louis, who had previously been seen in the past. Needless to say, it's an exciting tease for the upcoming AMC show.
Interview with the Vampire was originally announced in May 2020 after AMC acquired the rights to The Vampire Chronicles, Anne Rice's 13-novel saga about aristocratic blood-suckers. By 2021, it was confirmed that Australian actor Sam Reid has been cast as Lestat de Lioncourt while Avatar: The Way of Water star Bailey Bass will portray young Claudia.
The series will also star Assad Zaman as Rashid, Chris Stack as Tom Anderson, Kalyne Coleman as Grace De Pointe Du Lac, Jeff Pope as Finn O'Shea and Rachel Alana Handler as Peg Leg Doris.
For now, Interview with the Vampire has not yet been given an official release date. However, the series is already expected to premiere on AMC later this year. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
