Interview With the Vampire TV Series' New Lestat & Louis Teased in New AMC Video

AMC has released a new video teaser, giving fans their first official look at the highly awaited Interview With the Vampire TV series.

Interview With the Vampire, based on Anne Rice's best-selling 1976 novel of the same name, is the first in Rice's decades-spanning Vampire Chronicles series. AMC purchased the rights to the trilogy of books, as well as Rice's The Lives of the Mayfair Witches, last year.

AMC’s Interview With the Vampire Reboot

Game of Thrones actor Jacob Anderson plays vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac in the upcoming Interview With the Vampire TV series. Alan Taylor, who previously directed on Game of Thrones and most recently helmed The Many Saints of Newark for HBO Max, directed the pilot. Actor Sam Reid, who plays the part of Lestat of Lioncourt, joins Anderson's Louis.

AMC Networks has released a new video teaser on Twitter, which includes intriguing footage from key scenes between Louis and Lestat from Interview With the Vampire.

The character of Lestat is depicted with bloody fangs disturbingly hovering over Louis as he delivers the line, "I give death to those deserving," while Anderson's character is on the ground, visibly horrified. The teaser also shows one of the series' locations, as the two protagonists appear to be interacting in a church.

What to Expect from AMC’s TV Version

This teaser scene appears to be from the early days of Louis and Lestat's relationship, perhaps even before the former becomes a vampire, based on Anderson's horrified look in the footage. Given how little is known about the show thus far, it's unclear how much of the novel's events will be covered in the upcoming episodes.

Rice, the original author, died before the first season of Interview With the Vampire could be completed. She is, however, still listed as an executive producer on the show. Grace, Louis' sister, is played by actress Kalyne Coleman, and Claudia, a little girl adopted by Louis and Lestat and converted to vampirism, is played by Bailey Bass.

A successful film rendition of Interview With the Vampire, starring Tom Cruise as Lestat, Brad Pitt as Louis, Kirsten Dunst as Claudia, and Christian Slater as the reporter, was released in 1994. The AMC adaptation is now filming in New Orleans, where the majority of the tale takes place. With the series' first teaser now available, fans may expect a release date to be revealed soon.
