Infinity War Actor Thinks Ebony Maw Should Return In Avengers 4

Ebony Maw proved to be a terrifying new villain in Avengers: Infinity War but some people believe he didn't deserve his unceremonious death. One person who thinks "Squidward" should return in Avengers 4 is the man who played Maw himself.

Tom Vaughan-Lawlor provided the eerie voice and motion capture for Maw in Infinity War. The Irish actor clearly thinks highly of his villainous character and even told Red Carpet News TV that he would gladly portray Maw again in the future.

"I think he's a great character and fun to play. It's a brilliantly written character, some of the language and the dialogue that I got to say was just so much fun. Those parts are kind of gifts to actors. Also the physicality, it's a very playful character. And yeah, it was wonderful to do, and given the opportunity, I'd love to revisit it if possible."

In Infinity War, Maw kidnapped Doctor Strange and tortured the Sorcerer Supreme to obtain the Time Stone. However, Strange was rescued when Iron Man and Spider-Man created a hole in his ship that sucked Maw out into space. Although it was clear that the villain was killed, there is still a possibility that Maw will appear in Avengers 4.

There have been speculations that the upcoming Marvel flick will deal with time travel. It's possible that the Avengers will go back in time to prevent Thanos from forging his Infinity Gauntlet and see a glimpse of the Black Order, which includes Ebony Maw. However, it is highly unlikely that the film will even bother with the Mad Titan's henchmen.

The still-untitled Avengers 4 is scheduled for release on May 3, 2019.
