Following the release of Episode 2, fans continue to be impressed by the show’s animation quality. It’s not just fans though as Ichigo Kurosaki voice actor Masakazu Morita was also surprised by the cinematic animation quality of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War.

Recently, Morita was interviewed by Animate Times. There, he revealed how nervous he was to return to his iconic role.

He also shared how impressed he was by the animation quality, enough that he called it movie-level.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War's Lauded Animation Quality

Even before the show began airing, fans have already praised Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War for its animation, with many saying that it seems more like an anime movie than a weekly TV show.

Morita echoes this sentiment as he said in the interview how he thought that Thousand-Year Blood War was like a theatrical anime release.

Not just any movie mind you, he specifically said that it’s like an anime movie with a big budget behind it.

This is thanks to the impressive CG in the fight scenes along with other sequences which are impeccably animated.

What makes this even more impressive is that the series is set to run for four cours, meaning it will have around 50 episodes.

Given this, it’ll be interesting to see if the level of quality will be sustained as the series progresses. Though Morita already felt thankful that he can play a part in the anime.

Thousand-Year Blood War having movie-level animation should come as no surprise given that this serves as the anime’s finale.

The show not only marks the return of Bleach but also ends the series’ story as it covers the final arc of Tite Kubo’s manga.

Aside from being impressed with the cinematic animation, Morita also expressed his amazement at how the facial expressions were animated.

In the original anime, the facial animations were simpler, meaning Morita had to add more to his recording to help convey dialogue and expressions better.

But with the new Bleach anime, Morita had to adopt a different voice acting style to better match the enhanced animation.

Despite the challenge, Morita is happy with the new style that he went with as he believes this will be a turning point for his voice acting craft.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War continues with Episode 3 which will be released next week.
