Hugh Jackman Says Wolverine and Deadpool Will 'Hate Each Other' in MCU Sequel

There is little doubt that people are already hyped up about Deadpool 3 now that Wolverine will finally be joining the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel. However, fans shouldn't expect Logan to get all friendly with Wade Wilson. Hugh Jackman has just pointed out that Wolverine and the Merc with the Mouth are set to "hate each other" when we see them together in the third Deadpool film.

Back in September, Ryan Reynolds announced that Hugh Jackman has finally agreed to reprise his role as Wolverine and will appear in Deadpool 3. The two actors have since been joking about the reunion in the MCU sequel. But don't expect Logan and Deadpool to get all chummy like Jackman and Reynolds.

Hugh Jackman was recently a guest on the Empire Film podcast where he was asked about the animosity between Wolverine and Deadpool. Not surprisingly, his response confirms that the two won't be the best of friends.

"How do I categorize it? Ten being really close, zero being the reality, we're zero, we're opposites, hate each other," Jackman said. He then explained that his answer is based on his own understanding of his character.

"I'm just talking from my perspective, [Logan's] frustrated by him, wants to be a million miles away from him or wants to punch him in the head," Jackman said. Unfortunately, he can't be a million miles away from him in this movie, so I'm probably going to punch him in the head a lot."

It's a hilarious answer and one that really shouldn't surprise fans at all. Nevertheless, we're hoping that the two get along well enough to work together in defeating a common foe, whoever that may be.

Deadpool 3 is the third film in the franchise and the first to be produced by Disney and Marvel Studios. It is currently scheduled for release on November 8, 2024.
