Jackman appeared on the "Empire Film Podcast" and teased the dynamic between his character Wolverine and Reynolds in the Deadpool sequel.
"How do I categorize it?" Jackman said when asked about the dynamic of Deadpool and Wolverine. "Ten being really close, zero being the reality: we're zero; we're opposites, hate each other."
"I'm just talking from my perspective," he added. "[Logan is] frustrated by him [and] wants to be a million miles away from him or wants to punch him in the head. Unfortunately, he can't be a million miles away from him in this movie, so I'm probably going to punch him in the head a lot."
Hugh Jackman On Reprising His Superhero Role In Deadpool 3
Jackman and Reynolds are good friends, and they shocked fans when they announced that the former would reprise his character, Wolverine, in the latter's Deadpool 3. Jackman hung up his claws in the 2017 movie Logan, which ended with his character's death.
According to Reynolds, when Disney owned Fox, which released the first two movies, he spoke about the future of Deadpool to enter Kevin Feige's Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"I got Kevin to talk what, if anything, the future holds for Deadpool in that transaction," Reynolds said of his first meeting with Marvel following the Disney-Fox merger, Variety reported. "The subject was coming up in the meeting about if we could find a way to do a Deadpool-Wolverine pairing. It wasn't possible then. For this to be happening now is pretty damn exciting."

Reynolds and Jackman first met in 2009 for the X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Reynolds played a different iteration of Wade Wilson/Deadpool at the time. The Music Man star didn't hide his excitement about returning to the big screen as Wolverine.
"A little part of me now thinks I'd be better at it," Jackman said about returning to his most iconic role. "Is that arrogance of age or something? Wolverine's a tortured character — more tortured than me. But I always get the feeling of him being comfortable in his own skin. And I feel more comfortable in my own skin now, even though it's messier."
Reynolds was eager to bring Wolverine on board in the Deadpool movies for three years. However, it was reportedly not until August that Jackman finally agreed to reprise his role after Logan.
"I think, actually, he'd given up," Jackman said. "I think it was a big shock to him. There was a massive pause, and then he said, 'I can't believe the timing of this.'"
Deadpool 3 is set to open in theaters on Nov. 8, 2024.
