Throughout Star Wars: Andor, there had been a lot of deaths that Cassian witnessed or heard of but that of Maarva may be the most painful one that he would have to face. How will it affect him going forward in the story and getting into the rebellion?
How Will Maarva's Death Affect Cassian in Star Wars: Andor?
Star Wars: Andor Episode 11 just dropped a bomb on Cassian's heart as he learns about the death of Maarva after he escaped Narkina 5. This gave him a huge heartbreak considering that he hoped to see her after getting out of prison but time may not just be on Cassian's side.
The death of Maarva changes the turf for Cassian. Maarva was the closest to a mother that Cassian has but it is already too late for him to be with her once more or even say goodbye before she passes. It's a heartbreak for him not being able to do so to one of the most important persons in his life.
Presumably, by the time Cassian gets to Ferrix, his return could only spell more deaths ahead. That, in itself, could give Cassian the feeling of what it truly is like to be alone, with the loss of the person waiting for him to come home, and worse, he couldn't pay his respects without watching his back.

Maarva was the hope in Cassian's heart, one of the very few that Cassian cares about, and with the her light being dimmed with her death, this could lead Cassian into a greater emotional weight and have a bigger reason to fight for the rebellion. His last straw finally fell. Maarva was Cassian's anchor.
Facing the future without Maarva, Cassian would only be left with the memories and the learnings he had from Maarva. An emotional journey, indeed, this could set Cassian up for a bigger change ahead as he gets deeper into the cause of the rebellion.
