Genichi Sojo, a weapons dealer who controls Japan, wields the Kuregumo in Kagurabachi.

Sojo is a well-known underworld figure who has been on Kamunabi's wanted list for over a decade.

He is a cautious individual, making it difficult for Kamunabi to apprehend him. He also has inferior sorcerers working for him, such as the Daruma sorcerer, whom he assigned to retrieve Char from Chihiro.

For Sojo, mystical swords such as the Kuregumo exist solely to take people's lives. He feels that the blades were designed to slaughter people, and it is only natural that one of them be entrusted to him.

More than anything else, Sojo desires to surpass Kunishige Rokuhira, which is why he seeks Char as a component of his plan.

Following Sojo's death, Chihiro picks up Kuregumo in addition to Enten.

The Kuregumo, like the other enchanted swords, is a unique katana infused with sorcery that possesses supernatural abilities.

The Kuregumo or Cloud Gouger, controls three elements: Mei represents thunder, Yui is ice, and Kou is water.

When Sojo activates the sword by calling out Cloud Gouger's name, two clouds shaped like Eastern dragons emerge from the blade and encircle him.

Here are some of the well-known techniques used by Sojo while wielding Kuregumo:

  • Mei summons a cloud dragon that morphs into powerful lightning bolts that can annihilate enemies with incredible force.
  • Cloaked Mei is an expansion of the Mei technique. Sojo used it after acquiring a greater understanding of the enchanted blade.
  • Yui summons a cloud dragon capable of creating ice in the direction the sword points. It can freeze targets immediately.
  • Ketsu is Yui's extension, which manifests as ice chains that serve as protection for the wielder.
  • Kou summons clouds that can carry massive amounts of water. It can use water to create clouds of mist that confuse adversaries or to conduct electricity.
