Kagurabachi Chapter 1 introduces Chihiro Rokuhira and his father, Kunishige Rokuhira.
Kunishige, renowned for his extraordinary katana crafting technique, was the land’s best swordsmith.
The chapter’s first half deals with Chihiro helping his father forge a special katana in his humble workshop.
The first chapter also introduces a man named Shiba, who happens to be Kunishige’s good friend.
Shiba informs Chihiro that Kunishige played a pivotal role in crafting the legendary swords that secured victory in the Seitei War 15 years ago.
Chihiro aspires to train under his father to become a swordsmith.
Kunishige, recognizing the responsibility and moral weight of this craft, explains to Chihiro that it involves creating weapons designed for killing others.
However, Chihiro’s unwavering commitment to the path convinces Kunishige to accept him as his apprentice.
The chapter then takes a 38-month time jump showcasing the Korogumi Yakuza.
Surprisingly, the yakuza faction is aided by a sorcerer as Korogumi successfully seizes control of the city.
The group establishes its dominance through the ruthless elimination of its enemies.
Meanwhile, Chihiro and Shiba are in the city to deal with the Korogumi Yakuza. Chihiro has vowed that he won’t allow criminals to wield the katana.
It is then revealed that Kunishige has imbued his katana with sorcery, and the swords he crafted were enchanted blades with extraordinary powers.
Chihiro is seen chanting a spell called "Enten" before unleashing his mystical katana.
Toward the end of the chapter, Chihiro confronts a member of the yakuza, demanding information about the Hishaku, a part of the sorcerer’s plot that the Korogumi are involved in.
Chihiro announces that he is determined to confront and cut down the monsters called Hishaku.
Kagurabachi’s Manga Release Schedule
Kagurabachi Chapter 1 was released on Sunday, September 17, 2023. The second chapter of the shounen manga series is scheduled to arrive on September 24, 2023.
