What would you do if you had the ability to see ghosts? It must be hard living with supernatural abilities because it sure is difficult for high school student Miko Yotsuya. What's even worse is that these extraordinary powers of hers just suddenly activated out of nowhere, causing her to freak out. If you have a knack for watching horror anime, then it might be worth checking out Mieruko-chan.
Mieruko-chan follows the life of Miko Yotsuya, who suddenly gained the ability to see the supernatural. Some of these creatures tend to get quite gruesome, which elicits high levels of fear within Miko. However, she has to put on a brave face and pretend that she doesn't see any of these creatures — just so that they won't bother her or her friends. Unfortunately, this gets Miko in multiple situations where her courage and fearlessness are constantly being tested.
Mieruko-chan is a horror-comedy manga series created by Tomoki Izumi in 2018. Mieruko-chan began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's ComicWalker. In North America, Yen Press handles the publishing. As of writing, there are four volumes available in English. The anime adaptation by Passione (Citrus, High School DxD Hero) premiered last October 3 as part of the Fall 2021 anime season.
Yuki Ogawa (FLCL Progressive) is directing the series, while Kenta Ihara (Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy) handles the script and series composition. The main voice cast consists of Sora Amamiya (KonoSuba) as Miko Yotsuya, Kaede Hondo (takt op. Destiny) as Hana Yurikawa, and Ayane Sakura (My Hero Academia) as Yulia Niguredou. Some of the supporting cast includes Yumiri Hanamori (Blue Period) as Kyousuke Yotsuya and Yuichi Nakamura (Jujutsu Kaisen) as Zen Toono.

According to the official website of Mieruko-chan, the Blu-ray and DVD information page shows that the first season will have a total of 12 episodes. The final episode should air sometime around mid-December.
