House of the Dragon Star Reveals 'Scary' Scene She Has to Act Out in S2
While House of the Dragon fans are roaring for a Daemon vs. Aemond Targaryen battle scene in season 2, those who have already read the books are well aware that one of the highlights of George RR Martin's Fire & Blood was a brutal sequence between Helaena Targaryen and her kids.
"People love to tell me as soon as I was being cast as Helaena, all my Game of Thrones friends know that I know, like, 'You know what happens to you?' and I'm like, 'Yes, I do know,'" Helaena actress Phia Saban recently said.
Saban admitted that she was "scared" of having to act it, but what is more shocking about it was the "specificity" and "simplicity" of how it was written.
"Because there's a lot of freedom there for an actor," Saban added, "But also, it's really scary, you feel really exposed."
The scene in question here involves Queen Helaena Targaryen being forced to choose which among her three children with King Aegon II gets to live, thanks to the threat posed by Blood and Cheese.

How Different Queen Helaena Targaryen Will Be in Season 2
In another interview, Saban explained how different Helaena's role will be in House of the Dragon season 2 in a way that exposes her role as a Queen, a Wife to her brother, and a Mother to her three children.
"I think it's very telling about the preposterous idea that a woman could have real power," she continues, "And actually, how the women that have real power have to play a game that they are not actually as powerful as they seem."
Saban also says that compared to the men who could uproot their enemies with their own hands, women have to go through an "underhanded way so as not to step on anyone's toes."
In this case, THAT Helaena scene is what non-book readers should look out for to get Phia Saban's drift on how heartless and cruel her family is bound to be treated this second season.
