House of the Dragon: Helaena Already Spoiled the Dance of the Dragons

Helaena Targaryen has been an intriguing addition to House of the Dragon considering that there are some interesting changes to the character. For instance, the Game of Thrones prequel appears to be introducing Helaena as a dreamer who can see the future and she never fails to share her prophecies. The latest one in Episode 7 has once again teased what will happen in the Dance of the Dragons.

In House of the Dragon Episode 7, the Targaryens attend Laena Velaryon's funeral on Driftmark where everybody was understandably awkward and tense. However, Helaena was the only one who didn't seem concerned about anything and chose to play with a spider. But as she did, the princess spoke about dragons and looms and thread.

"Hand turns loom; spool of green, spool of black. Dragons of flesh, weaving dragons of thread," Helaena said as she played with the spider. It's a reference to Otto Hightower, the returning Hand who is now orchestrating the civil war with the Greens and the Blacks who will use their dragons in the fight.

It's not the first time that Helaena speaks about what will happen in the Dance of the Dragons. In Episode 6, she immediately knows what happened before Aemond admits being in the dragonpit and her lines in the scene are seemingly prophetic. When her brother Aegon II is mentioned, the princess says that the last ring has no legs at all. Right after Alicent assures Aemond that he will have a dragon, Helaena says he will have to close an eye.

House of the Dragon Episode 7 is now available on HBO Max. House of the Dragon Episode 8 is titled The Lord of the Tides and will premiere on HBO on Sunday, October 9, 2022.
