The show’s release may have been delayed to early 2024, but fans can at least rest easy that no more delays will happen. That’s because Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! is hyping up its January 2024 release with two new character trailers.
Previously, the show’s promo videos highlighted the main heroine, Minami Fuyuki. But these new character trailers put the spotlight on the other gals of Hokkaido Gals, including Rena Natsukawa and Sayuri Akino.
These new trailers were shared on the DMM Pictures official YouTube channel, and they feature clips of the two supporting characters, giving fans an idea of their personalities.
New Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! Trailers Highlight Rena and Sayuri
First up is Rena Natsukawa. She may seem like a classmate of the main character, Tsubasa, but she’s actually a year above the other cast members.
Based on the trailer, Rena appears to be a bit more timid and soft-spoken. The trailer showing Rena in the library also hints at her studious nature.
Voicing Rena is Reina Ueda, a popular VA who is best known for voicing Kanao Tsuyuri in Demon Slayer, Lemon Irvine in Mashle, and Miyo Saimori in My Happy Marriage.
The next Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! trailer puts the spotlight on Sayuri Akino, a classmate of Tsubasa and Minami.
Unlike the outgoing Minami, Sayuri is reserved. She also interestingly doesn’t speak the Hokkaido dialect.
Sayuri is voiced by Yumiri Hanamori, another popular VA whom fans should know as Ai Hayasaka in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Sagiri Yamada Asaemon in Hell’s Paradise, and Nadeshiko Kagamihara in Laid-Back Camp.

Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! Gets January 2024 Release Date
As its title implies, the show is set in wintery Hokkaido, making its Winter 24 premiere perfect for its setting.
The show is set in Kitami, a fairly small city in Hokkaido. This sets it apart from most other rom-com anime which are typically set in big cities like Tokyo.
The setting is also a major part of the story as its main character, Tsubasa, moves to Kitami from Tokyo. Soon, his classmate, Minami, becomes his friend and helps him adjust to life in Hokkaido.
Voicing Tsubasa is Nobunaga Shimazaki, the voice actor of Mahito in Jujutsu Kaisen. Meanwhile, Ayane Sakura, the VA of Ochaco Uraraka in My Hero Academia, voices Minami.
Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! will be released in January 2024. There’s no word yet on where it will be streamed outside of Japan.
