While it may not have as much buzz as Shonen Jump’s battle manga, the manga series PPPPPP was given the seal of approval by One Piece Red’s Uta.

Specifically, MangaMoguraRE on Twitter shared that PPPPPP Volume 4 of the manga featured a recommendation by Ado, the singer behind Uta in the latest One Piece movie.

The fourth PPPPPP volume compiles the latest batch of chapters, and it is set to release in Japan tomorrow.

Having recommendations from other creators is a common thing in manga volume releases, though these recommendations typically come from fellow manga artists.

Ado’s seal of approval isn’t surprising though, considering that PPPPPP is a manga series that’s all about music.

In case you’re unfamiliar, Ado is a Japanese singer who went viral in late 2020 for her song “Usseewa.” Since then, Ado has become one of Japan’s most popular singers today.

Ado’s latest songs are for One Piece Film: Red where she performs eight songs that are sung by Uta, the film’s main character. Among these songs is “Tot Musica”, a song made in collaboration with Attack on Titan composer, Hiroyuki Sawano.

PPPPPP is an ongoing manga series by Mapollo 3 that began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump on September 17, 2021.

Its story follows Lucky Otogami, one of seven children who love the piano. Though Lucky is left with his mother when his parents divorced while the rest of his siblings were taken by their father.

All his siblings became prodigies, but Lucky does not as he is forced to live in an abusive relative’s home after his mother fell into a coma.

When his mother wakes up, he finds out that she only has one year left to live. Thus, Lucky decides to become a pianist so that his mother can watch him perform along with his siblings.

As a relatively new manga, this music series does not have an anime adaptation lined up, unlike its other Shonen Jump contemporaries. Though it has already received critical acclaim, with the series being nominated for the 2022 Next Manga Award.

New chapters of PPPPPP are released every week on Weekly Shonen Jump in Japan and on Manga Plus internationally.
