A lot of speculation has been going on online about who will be taking over the role of Nathan Summers a.k.a. Cable in Deadpool 2, but another X-Force member is set to make an appearance, and that's Domino. Rumor has it that actress/singer-songwriter Janelle Monae is currently the frontrunner for the role.
News comes from The Hashtag Show, and they say that Monae is being considered for the role of Domino. Though initially known for her music career, Monae is currently a rising actress, having roles in Academy Award-nominated movies like Hidden Figures and Moonlight. I bet she could bring all different kinds of sass to the role if she were cast as Domino.
In the comics, Domino is a mercenary whose mutant power allows her to manipulate "luck." It's just my opinion, but since Domino is always portrayed as a pale mutant in the comics, I would be uncomfortable if they had to put Monae in "whiteface" make-up. If that isn't the case, the studio can just do whatever they want with the character.
Also, if we're thinking of actresses, I would love to have Aisha Tyler take over the role of Domino. I love her as Lana Kane in Archer, and she would just be great as an irritated "straight man" character to Ryan Reynold's Deadpool.
Deadpool 2 is currently under production, and it's expected for a release in 2018.
