Giancarlo Esposito is easily one of the finest actors in Hollywood right now and for the longest time, fans have been dying to see the star of Breaking Bad, The Boys, and The Mandalorian join another major film and television franchise — the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Admittedly, Giancarlo is a fan of the MCU and he himself has also been lobbying to get a spot in the franchise. The 64-year-old star is quite adamant to get cast in the upcoming X-Men reboot but he won't settle for just any character.

Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the beloved actor shared why he's so eager to get cast as Professor Charles Xavier in the anticipated project. He also addressed several fan castings, including Magneto and Mr. Freeze but according to him, he'd much rather play a hero in his next project.

Esposito explains: "I love what Marvel does. I love that the fans can see me in this universe and are proposing not only one character, possibly Magneto, possibly [DC's Dr.] Freeze. And the biggest ask is Charles Xavier. But, look, I want to play a good guy. Charles is smart. He's good. But I feel as if there may be some mileage with me and Marvel. I know I love what they do. I know I love creativity. So who knows what could happen? Keep putting it out there."

Last year, Giancarlo confirmed that he's had negotiations with Marvel Studios but nothing official has been set in stone. It'll be interesting to see if Kevin Feige would be willing to grant the actor his request to play Professor X but the studio has a good track record of pleasing the fandom and considering MCU diehards love the idea, I think it's pretty safe to say that his X-Men casting is plausible.

Speaking of the mutants, Deadpool 3 is scheduled for theatrical release on November 8, 2024.
