The official trailer for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has given fans everything that they wanted except for one little thing. We still don't have a clear look at the new Captain America. So why is Marvel Studios so keen on keeping US agents out of the limelight?
It has already been confirmed that US Agent will be a major part of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. This was announced during the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con and it was even revealed that Wyatt Russell would portray the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series.
Comic book readers already know that US Agent is a new incarnation of Captain America. In fact, the character even wields a similar shield and is a symbol of patriotism in the comics.
But why is the new Captain America being left out in the promos? Fans have noticed that US Agent only appeared briefly in the official trailer for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and his face isn't even shown in the footage. Additionally, his face is not visible in the new poster for the MCU series.
It's a curious move for Marvel fans but it can be explained by how the show is being marketed. After all, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is about Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes. Putting the focus on the new Captain America will only confuse viewers since Sam is expected to be the new Cap.
Although we're not seeing a lot of US agents, for now, there is little doubt we'll get to learn more about the character in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
