Who is Erin Kellyman Playing in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier?
There were several reports about Kellyman joining the cast of the MCU series in September last year. Although her role was not immediately revealed, it was believed that the Solo: A Star Wars Story actress had been cast as the villain.
But which villain is Kellyman playing in the Disney+ show? It was previously reported that the actress was seen filming a scene with Georges St-Pierre, who will return as Batroc the Leaper. Insiders also revealed that Kellyman's character was showing off her powers to her companions in the scene.
Is Erin Kellyman Playing Songbird in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier?
There were speculations that Kellyman had been cast as Songbird in the show after a report revealed that her character appears to have powers similar to the comic book villain. In the comics, Songbird has supersonic sound abilities and has a hypnotic song that can control anyone who hears it.
The idea of Songbird showing up in the MCU is an awesome one but the new trailer for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier might confirm that Kellyman is playing a completely different character.
Who is Flag-Smasher?
It has already been confirmed that Sam and Bucky will go up against an anarchist group called the Flag-Smashers, who appear to be led by Kellyman in the trailer. The name might be derived from the supervillain Flag-Smasher, who is one of the most notable Captain America villains in the comics.
The character is actually male in the comic books but Flag-Smasher's abilities are pretty close to Kellyman's mystery character. In addition to being a brilliant terrorist strategist, he is a gifted hand to hand combatant. The same can be said about Kellyman's character, who easily took down Bucky in the trailer.
For now, Marvel Studios has not yet confirmed Kellyman's role in the series. Perhaps we'll learn more about the character in the next few weeks.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier premieres on March 19.
