It looks like the wait for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is almost over. We finally have the first look at the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe series and its release date has just been revealed.
The teaser opens with several tributes to Captain America. However, a grim Sam Wilson feels the burden of being the one who has been given the superhero's shield. "The legacy of that shield is complicated," he tells Bucky Barnes.
Although Sam is unsure about how he will deal with this new responsibility, Bucky has his own way of encouraging his companion. "The world is upside down," he insists. "People need something to get behind. They need the symbol."
It's clear that these two will have to work with each other in the show. However, it looks like they still can't agree on a lot of things. When Bucky asks what the plan is, Sam simply smiles and jumps out the plane. "So no plan," Bucky says exasperatedly.
We already know that Baron Zemo is the main villain in the series but there's another character who appears to be going up against Sam and Bucky. The mysterious character is portrayed by Rogue One: A Star Wars Story actress Erin Kellyman and it looks like she's going to be a pain in the ass for them.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Daniel Bruhl, Emily VanCamp, and Wyatt Russell. The series will premiere on Disney+ on March 19, 2021.
