Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku is an upcoming anime by MAPPA, a studio that doesn’t seem to believe in resting as it has been pumping out anime shows continuously.

Starting with Chainsaw Man in Fall 2022, MAPPA continued with two shows in the ongoing season, which are Vinland Saga Season 2 and Campfire Cooking in Another World.

Despite the nonstop anime productions from the studio, it seems that Jigokurakus’ animation isn’t affected as the new trailer previewed some well-animated sequences. Check it out here:

For those who are familiar with the manga source material, Hell’s Paradise might be one of their most anticipated shows of Spring 23, even ahead of heavy hitters like Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village.

This is because the manga is written by Yuji Kaku, a well-known manga artist who is known in the manga community for his work as an assistant to the cult hit, Fire Punch.

His work on Fire Punch is no doubt a major influence in this series as it features a dark fantasy story and style, complete with a massive dose of violence.

The latest trailer for the series also previews the opening theme song entitled WORK by Ringo Sheena and millennium parade.

Ringo Sheena is an unexpected choice, though it makes sense given that she’s known for performing songs for anime that incorporate traditional Japanese elements. These shows include Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu and Miss Hokusai.

Meanwhile, millennium parade is a Japanese collective that’s also a surprising choice. Though this isn’t their first project as they’re also known for performing the theme song of Mamoru Hosoda’s Belle.

Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku Episode 1 will be released on April 1, 2023, in Japan.

Outside Japan, the show is confirmed to release on Crunchyroll in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.

Meanwhile, the series will be distributed in the rest of Asia Pacific by Netflix.
