Actress Amber Marshall hinted that a few familiar faces may make an appearance in Heartland Season 16 during a recent interview on the Hallmarkies Podcast.

Marshall plays Amy Fleming, the show's lead character, in Heartland. She has been a part of the program ever since its 2007 CBC debut. Marshall and several other cast members have returned season after season, although some characters have either disappeared totally or just occasionally appeared.

Amber Marshall On What’s to Come in Heartland Season 16

Marshall stated on the Hallmarkies Podcast that she likes it when previous characters return for a single or two episodes.

“I love that we do kind of pay that respect to previous characters coming back,” Marshall shared. “So you watch Mallory (Jessica Amlee) grow up, and then Mallory left. And then we get to see her and Jake return.”.

She continued, “Which is really cool because these actors, they grow up off-screen, and then when you don’t see them for so many years and all of a sudden they come back you’re like, ‘You’re an adult now, you’re all grown up.’”

Marshall also hinted that certain old characters would reappear in Heartland Season 16.

“So we do get to see a couple of characters coming back this season, so Season 16 is what we’re filming right now that haven’t been there for a while,” the actor said.

More Horses!

For Heartland Season 16, former actors are also returning, and Marshall expressed her hope that different horse-related themes will be featured in upcoming seasons.

“And I think it’s really cool to have different types of horses too. Because the majority of horses we use on the show are Quarter Horses. They’re amazing; they have worked out so well for us,” Marshall said on the Hallmarkies Podcast. “But every once in a while it’s really cool to be able to see just a totally different breed. We’re like, ‘Oh, that’s really neat.’ Like, ‘What is that?’”

Marshall shares similarities with her character Amy in that she too owns horses, along with dogs, cats, and numerous farm animals. She also resides on a ranch.

“Just some more unique guest star horses I think would be really cool,” she added.
