Hawkeye Episode 4 Ending Explained

In Hawkeye Episode 4, “Partners, Am I Right?,” it picked up where the last one ended with Jack Duquesne cornering Clint with the Ronin retractable sword. It turns out, the whole family is home with Eleanor Bishop there as well. Her remark of having an Avenger in her dining room was hilarious! Kate proceeded to explain that they are in a case where actual people are in danger.

Clint clarified that Kate is not his partner and Eleanor asked to keep her safe as she cannot afford to lose her only child. Clint promised her safety. After that, Kate tried to save the holidays by bringing pizza and movies. She also asked Clint what is the best shot he ever had in his career and it turns out to be targeting Natasha when she only wanted out, he never took the shot.

He tasked Kate to retrieve their trick arrows from one of the LARPers he met in Episode 2 while he talks to Kazi about Maya’s pursuit of Ronin which could lead to her death. He convinced him to convince her to stop. Meanwhile, Kate managed to get the trick arrows and had some fun time with the LARPers, even contracting them to make costumes as a deal in their help.

Hawkeye got word from his wife, Laura, who tracked the whereabouts of a vintage Rolex watch, the one which was auctioned in Episode 1 and it was revealed that Clint knows who is the owner of the watch. Kate insisted to come and they went to an apartment building which they later determined to be Maya’s. Is it hers though? Why is she tracking Clint’s family?

When Maya attacked Kate, Clint thought it was her who was with him on the other side of the rooftop. It turns out to be Yelena Belova, and no, she is not allied with Maya as she did some painful attacks on her, too. She had a Widow’s bite and when the tension broke, Clint disowned Kate as “they were never partners.”

That ending was one superb surprise for the fans and viewers of the show as finally, the much-awaited arrival of Yelena has arrived. She came in hot and furious on Clint and when they saw that it was not Maya, Clint knew right there and then as she got the Widow’s bite, a familiar weapon of Natasha. How she would mix up the holidays would definitely be an exciting twist.

Hawkeye Episode 4 is now streaming on Disney Plus.
