Harrison Ford Hopes Indiana Jones 5 Kills It Like The MCU

It looks like Harrison Ford wants his next Indiana Jones movie to have the same success as the films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Speaking in an interview with Hey U Guys, the swashbuckling legend Harrison Ford revealed his hopes and ambitions for Indiana Jones 5. While the actor has yet to appear in a Marvel movie, Ford hopes that the newest installment in the classic Indiana Jones action adventure series might have the same effect as the films in the MCU, delivering satisfying film experiences for viewers.

Production for Indiana Jones 5 is scheduled to begin later this year, and according to Ford, he'd like to give fans something that they won't really expect in Indy's latest movie.

"I don't really want to give them what they want to see, I want to give them something they didn't anticipate. They are used to a degree of disappointment when you revisit," the actor told the entertainment news outlet, "Certainly, the Marvel movies have made a spectacular example of a success of worked the other way around, they killed it! Well, we're not going to make another Indiana Jones unless we are in a position to kill it. We want it to be the best. We've got some scheduling issues and a few script things to do but we are determined to get it right before we get it made."

The Indiana Jones film franchise might have a different flavour compared to the movies in the MCU, but we hope that Indiana Jones 5 has the same sort of success as a Marvel movie.

Of course, there's a lot of excitement building up over Indiana Jones 5. It's been a while since Ford carried around his whip. The last Indiana Jones movie, The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, came out back in 2008. It's been more than a decade since then.

Indiana Jones 5 is set for release on July 9, 2021.
