Acclaimed author and one of the most prolific masters of horror, Stephen King only has positive things to say about Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities.

King's works have been adapted for both the big and small screens over the course of his long career, including the current Mr. Harrigan's Phone Netflix original and Stanley Kubrick's timeless The Shining. Even so, the best-selling author frequently contributes his horror knowledge to support new works in the genre.

Horror Season Has Official Started

For almost as long as there have been movies, horror anthologies have adorned the screen. Favorites from the genre, including the timeless Tales of the Crypt and the cult classic Trick'r'Treat, have pleased and horrified audiences; successful horror anthologies from recent years have been scarce.

There's a chance that Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities will alter that. It might soon become required horror viewing as the series presents fresh monsters and tales to the screen.

King's sentiments are very complimentary of Cabinet of Curiosities, but Del Toro fans would not have anticipated anything less from the director. After all, as the director of the widely acclaimed Pan's Labyrinth, Del Toro is a master of horror in his own right.
